CLEAN UP THE BEACH - SIGN OUR PETITION

Following a Facebook campaign a group of people from around St Austell got together on March 27th, 2013 to march to the Beach with one specific aim in mind - to attempt to persuade the owners of the Beach to clear up the appalling mess currently on view.  The pictures below are a record of what was on view!

AVERT YOUR EYES WHERE IT OFFENDS YOU!

The gathering began under the oak tree at 11am

 and eventually marched
down the hill

...only to find the welcome
wasn't all that would have
been desired.

Watch the march to Crinnis.

It's hard to remember that this was a venue for some of the
best stage shows in the world. It was a place of entertainment
with queues stretching around the buildings to buy tickets.

These images give some idea about what has aroused the ire of
so many people.  Enough to bring many to the Beach on a bitterly
cold day to show their feelings.  Do keep an eye on this web-site
to find out how you can help.  We cannot let this mess stay here
for the foreseeable future!

But there is a grain of hope.  Perhaps the owners of the Beach
are listening to the voices of the populace.  If you look carefully
at our final picture, you might spot what looks like the first bit
of cleaning gear brought down to the old buildings.

Yes, we know it's only one vacuum cleaner but it's a start, isn't it?
From these small beginnings...

And another Facebook campaign is calling for Carlyon Bay to be restored to its former glory or something similar.
Many would agree with that!
